Introduction: Diabetic nephropathy (DN) is one of the most serious chronic complications of diabetes mellitus characterized by persistent albuminuria, raised arterial blood pressure, a lowered glomerular filtration rate, and high-risk of cardiovascular morbidity and mortality.
